Today crew take part in cringeworthy unofficial Melbourne Cup race They're engaged in a ratings race with Channel Seven's Sunrise crew. But on Tuesday Karl Stefanovic and Network Nine's Today presenters raced among themselves, equestrian style. Donning horse jockey outfits, Karl, Sylvia Jeffreys, Richard 'Dickie' Wilkins and Deborah Knight hopped onto their makeshift horses and ran a 30m metre race, with Sylvia coming out on top. Nine's Today show presenters Sylvia Jeffreys, Karl Stefanovic, Deborah Knight and Richard Wilkins took part in an unofficial Melbourne Cup race on Tuesday And Dickie, the cast's resident tall man, may have been held back by the Jockey outfit - 'those jockeys are little fellas, that's all I can say,' after the race. Sylvia shared a snap of herself and Karl in colourful horse in their festive outfits, writing 'we take the cup seriously.' Ever the professional, the Gold Logie winner was still clad in his navy suit pants, white shirt and business tie. Gold and silver: Clad in their very own Jockey outfits, Sylvia ended up winning the race, with Karl coming in second The foursome were also uploaded to The Today Show's Instagram account, with Deborah striking a fierce pose, Sylvia hopping along in her jeans and Adidas sneakers and Dickie looking a smidge confused with the whole ordeal. Once again it was Karl who stole the show, wearing a look of vigorous determination as he whipped his imaginary horse.
